World heritage day
World heritage day serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving our cultural heritage for future generations. Also known as International Day for Monument and sites, it is celebrated every year on 18th April, to promote and raise awareness about the need to preserve historical sites across the globe. This year World Heritage Day celebration was organised in our campus in collaboration with Contact Base, a social enterprise working to promote Intangible Cultural Heritage and promotion of Cultural Diversity.
They conducted an interactive session with the students of classes 9 to 12, discussing the value of Intangible heritage , through a PPT presentation, a short film and a vibrant dance performance by a group of Chaau artists, from Purulia. The students, teachers learnt a great deal about our cultural heritage in West Bengal .
